Fidelio

Last night was my second year Wedding anniversary.  Gordy and I celebrated by going to see FidelioDd_fidelio175ls_t at the SF opera.  Although I really enjoyed being back at the Opera on Blue Blood Tuesday, nonetheless, Fidelio left something to be desired.  The opera is about a woman who dresses up like a man in order to infiltrate the dungeon where her husband is being held captive.  She was not at all credible as a young man.  Getting past that fact, the opera was not as engaging as it could have been.  It seemed like everything was served up for the audience with no exciting twists and turns.  The music was outstanding as always.  Beethoven never lets me down.

Nets Choke at Warrior's Arena

Thumboas10611220626nets_warriors_oas106 Last night Gordy and I went to see the Nets face off against the Warriors in Oakland.  The game was really close from the beginning.  Then, we lost Vince Carter to a strained back muscle...... and it was the beginning of the end.  The game was exciting, however.  Towards the end with NJ trailing by 5, the Nets made a couple of free throws and could have tied it, but Kidd fumbled the ball and the Nets could not get a shot off before the buzzer.  As a Nets fan, heartbreak is part of my reality.  I did enjoy the fact that right behind us there were two other Nets fans.....    For a while there, it looked like we were going to win.  We were sitting right behind a die-hard Warriors fan who was getting progressively more upset each time the Nets fan behind me said "AND ONE!," as one of the Nets drove to the hoop, got the ball in, plus a chance for a fowl shot.  All I can say is: "Lighten up buddy!  At least your team won!!"
